Events & Social Director - ATLANTA - Part Time

The Executive Leadership Institute is seeking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals for Events & Social Director positions. The candidate for this role needs to have excellent coordination skills as they are responsible for everything to do with the event, including the service of food, staff training, the set up of the room, menu and entertainment (if applicable) 

The candidate will also have to work closely with the members and guests to make sure that everything is to their satisfaction, not just in terms of sticking to an agreed upon brief, but also making sure any last-minute extras are taken care of. The happiness of the client is the responsibility of the Events manager. 

Some events may well be very elaborate affairs, so creativity is a very useful trait for this role. The Events & Social Director will be working closely with a large team of people, so good interpersonal skills are essential.


Managing the promotional, social and business aspects of an event is the job of an Events & Social Director. The candidate must see to every aspect and detail that ensures an event is successful. This may include hiring staff, speaking with agents, overseeing the delivery of equipment and sampling food. Their job requires them to manage multiple tasks at a time and often delegating to junior assistants. The hours they work are dependent on their current project.

An Events Manager usually performs many of the following tasks: 

Creating and coordination Professional & Social events

Publicizing and marketing events

Creating Name Tags and other credentials

Managing Onsite Registration Desk
Booking locations, halls and equipment 
Networking with industry professional 
Working with artistes and other entertainers 
Managing event budgets 
Negotiating contracts and fees 
Generating innovative ideas 
Overseeing setting up of a venue

Events & Social Director has a variety of qualifications. Their areas of study can comprise Event Planning, Music, Event Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Management, Hospitality, Cultural Arts or Tourism. Some managers pursue Associates, Diplomas, Bachelors and Masters Degrees in these subjects as well.
